Isn't that the game where people can set up servers with their own worlds and you can attach portals from one server to the next?
If so, it looks totally cool..

Yep, this is one game I'm particularly looking forward to. Looks great, interface looks particularly easy to use (I hated the old gold box D7D game interfaces - they put me off RPGs for years) and the multiplayer system looks particularly cool, mixing the best of computer games and real roleplaying. Can't wait either.

This game will rock!
Or, it had better or I'll go to Seattle and find someone at WotC.
Call me an old freak if you will, but I had some GREAT times role playing AD&D in the early 80's. Our group of friends still keeps touch via the internet. We've played Diplomacy via email, but MUSHing just hasnt really taken off to resume our ages old fun. NWN looks set to give us a chance to pay a visit to the halcyon days of youth.
Then again, perhaps I should just boot MAME again and listen to Hurts So Good some more :>

This will be THE game of ALL RPG's. I can't wait *drools profusely* 'till Q2 2001 !
Prediction....NWN will sell more copies in it's initial release than BG1 and BG2 did combined.
There are WAY too many awesome options to mention here. Go see for yourself !

Good Lord..It's not even out yet..What if it sucks donkie @##!@? What then? Personally I Want another Everquest game without Verant! WE need 3d worlds..not 2d...

Ymaster, yes EQ's 3d world was nice. But of what EQ had that is the only thing that NWN does not have. The characters ARE 3d and ,yes, the giants are HUGE compared to characters just like in EQ.
NWN offers true D&D 3rd edition rules roleplaying in a world that we create and manage. A DM can be present during play and can take control of any npc at any time. Also there is support for voice communication. NWN comes with a toolset so that DM's can create entire worlds, items, weaps, and armor, new creatures ect.
NWN is not only NOT EQ, it takes RPG's to a level that any "massively" multiplayer RPG, such as EQ, never will. I long for that 1st person 3d effect as well. But I would MUCH rather have the playability that NWN offers than the flashy graphics and so-so gameplay that EQ does.

NWN is being made by Bioware and Black Isle, look at their track record. Baldur's Gate, Torment, Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate 2. As soon as NWN is available for preorder, i am there. I wish they would release the toolset before the game so I can familirize myself with its capabilities.

I was one of the first posters when the Neverwinter nights was no more than an idea. Maybe it's just been so long to me that the stress has broken me? I long for that! Thats the kind of world Everquest needs to be. CAn you just imagine Everquest FREE! Free to play, Free Edit, Free to be on your own servers! God! The fun you could have with guild mates playing prebuilt adventures..sigh. It all sounds so good. But the 2d. I have had my fill of 2d with icewindale and Boldersgate. I'm sick of 2d! It lacks the first person fell. The fun of seeing with your own eyes..The thrill of being in the Matrix..I NEED 3D!
JUST STICK IT IN MY NECK AND JACK ME IN!

I thought NWN was a 3d, 3rd person game? I like the 3rd person perspective, it lets you see your character, the armor they have, weapons, injuries, etc. I will have this baby on preorder the day it goes up.

From what I have seen, it looks to be using a 3D engine..could be wrong - there is a demo movie on the BGII disk..I'll have to re-watch it

Why do you remind me of a guy I used to hang with in my park growing up? His name was Jason Bailey?

It is - look at the screen shots from www.Gamespy.com and the excerpt below:
BioWare has made the move to 3D and away from the 2D pre-rendered graphics of Baldur's Gate's Infinity engine. The Omen engine originally developed for BioWare's action game MDK 2 has been heavily modified into the Aurora engine for Neverwinter Nights. The gorgeous tiles that the isometric, top-down world is created with are resolution independent and thus can be scaled to any size your graphics card can handle. A camera can be controlled to change the distance and direction from which the world is seen, like in Myth II. Over sixty monster types will inhabit the lands, which undergo natural day and night cycles. Especially impressive is the lighting system with its reflections and realistic shadows.
Tell me that doesn't look cool If the tools are all they are cracked up to be, it will give UO2, EQ and anything else coming out as run for it's money

Buy! Buy! Buy! Must buy ! Must spends money to buy Neverwinter Nights! Must spend an obscene amount of money on buying a new computer to get better fps. must eat bread and water for a month to pay cablemodem. Must spend large amounts of time online killing non-existant monsters in a non-existant virtual world.
