I don't know why you hate it, but I just received the full version and it's really fun, still has great graphics and a nice story line. Could you be more descriptive on why you hate it?

The game is a realistic combat simulator, therefor some people may think it is too intense, or maybe they find realistic combat too lame, or slow. But it personally gets my heart pumping.

i've only played the game a little bit and ive found it to be a bit slow and confusing. i guess i just need to take time to learn the controls and everything.

    Exclamation

I would like Operation Flashpoint (more) if:
    • The command AI wasn't screwed: it contradicts itself and requires the impossible, such as hold off T80s/BMPs with the M16 and hand grenades (Stoo: "Everyone is dead! Tanks everywhere!" Command: "Hold out a few minutes longer, help is on the way". There are very few missions I've managed to complete without stealing a LAW or an RPG. Still, being a one man wrecking crew can be fun (if a little unrealistic)...
Six vehicles and forty+ personnel in the two guerilla missions is my record
    • There weren't situations where you need your prior knowledge, such as the one where you have to resuce vilagers: everyone gets into a truck and get blown away by a BMP, necessitating LAW theft (as the LAW soldiers either die or aren't ever sharp enough to respond to the BMP)
    • Missions didn't get stuck: although you survive and complete your objectives, you can't progress.
    • The graphics didn't screw up regularly: missing textures, random triangles obscuring things, guns always sticking through infantry when they are seated in trucks, etc..(Win98, Radeon 64 DDR, Dirext X 8.0a)

But if its so flawed, why do I play is so much?

    Thumbs up

A few months ago I read about this game and I was a bit wary of it. When I looked at the screens and saw all the control commands, I was wondering how you could actually manage to fight and give orders at the same time while a bunch of Ivans are trying to either run you over, blow you up, or shoot you. Finally, the demo came and I played it, and I think the controls are well done. Yeah, the game isn't very fast paced, but that allows time for you to be able to make decisions and give orders, without just trying to do it under pressure and screwing it all up. I do think that the controls are a bit complex at first, but just like every other game you get used to them.

    Yep, I really like it.

I have the full version, and even with the bugs (and there ARE a lot) it's a great game.
