    Talking Bid For Power

Any DBZ fans out there...? I've been waiting years for something like this to come out.
"Bid For Power is a total conversion for Quake III that is fast paced deathmatch action modeled specifically after the Japanese anime Dragonball Z. Bid For Power incorporates characters, levels, attacks, sounds, music and many other aspects of the TV show and reconstructs them into the Quake III engine. Bid For Power adds to the element of deathmatch with several different types of multiplayer games including Free For All, Last Man Standing, Team Play, The Battle for the Planet, Survivor and the Tenkaichi Budokai."

It looks pimp tight. Bidforpower.com has all the info you need.

Also Playstation has its very own DBZ by Infogrames/WizardWorks coming out. It's titled "DBZ X-treme Racing". One word "wow".

I'm a pretty adamant fan of the whole DBZ thing. I was wondering if you knew where I can get a copy? *edit*

Tried 4 days consecutively. Oh well it looks cool but Gohan doesn't go SSJ at all. What gives?

PS: know where i can get more ASF full episodes <preferably After Cell Saga, just got Goten vs Trunks and Best of the Boys>. Tried dbz vortex and already got all those.

I have played bid for power. Don't ask me where I got it, a friend sent it to me. It seems promising (I didn't play a full version of course.)

I've just been playing BFP for over a week and it rules. It would be better with more characters. But i think they got the general idea behind the gameplay alright.

Could use more meelee options like in the series. With the quick jump in jump out speed attacks ala Cell vs Goku.

Shame I can only use 2-3 maps in RC1 and RC2. How do i combine the 2 builds coz they each have diff maps???

They are developing BFP in phases that progress through sages as in the series. Each phase will have brand new Characters, Attacks, Levels, Music, and new styles of Gameplay and each phase will be compatible with previous phases.

Gohan doesn't change to ssj because that his young version. In phase 2 there will be a young and teenage(ssj transform) version of Gohan.

Thats great. I went to the bidforpower website and heard the next phase will have andriods 16,17,18,19 and 20 and maybe cell. Trunks too??? no mention unfortunately.

Im confused, coz i got 2 beta releases of phase 1 rc1 and rc2. How do i get the full version? It seems to be non commercial.

Coz BFP won't be sold as such as a game would be, according to bfp sources. Is there an official site i can dll the latest version??

AS for music and sounds, mine has no music and the sounds and voices are japanese

BFP has ran into many delays. It seems to be running the same course as Team Fortress 2.

The best place to ask those questions would be at the BFP forum. My knowledge is somewhat limited.....

Hey, I just found out theres a half-life mod for DBZ which even looks better than the BFP mod. Its still has alot of development, but it definitely looks promising.

    Heres the main site http://therage.thebackburner.com/

"Characters will include Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, Gogeta, Future Trunks, Mirai Trunks, Tien, Freeza, Buu, Android 16, Android 17, Android 18, Android 19, Android 20 - Dr. Gero, Capt Ginyu, all Cell Versions, and more!"

    Heres some pics.....

Everyone either has Half-life or Quake 3...so if you love DBZ, you got it made.......

    Hmmmm...

Looks like DBZ HL mod is a one man effort, and if not then it is not even at its beta stage. It may look good eventually but I think the particle fx in Q3 are better suited to DBZ than HL. More colors in Q3, HL looks dull.

    Thanx anyway.

    Cool

Alrighty then........these are all mods of original games.

    http://www.planetnamek.com/mods_quake1.html
The Dragonball Q and DBZ-arena sites haven't been working lately.

    http://therage.thebackburner.com/
Half-life mod. Look pretty good except for the character's faces. Still early in development though.

I've also heard there are other mods out there but don't have links for them........yet. Such as Dragonball UT, Final Battle, Eternal Battle, Rebirth of fusion, dragon mod z..just to name afew.

Hope this helped. Might want to check out www.planetnamek.com
Go to there forums, I'm sure they have all kinds of links.
    Peace

Love to see one of these mods use the Giants engine...

    Probly not a licenced engine.
