he he, I remember the one where the dude picks up the stick (or something like that) and bashes himself in the head while playing a gameboy, just so he could see in color

My view on the future of gaming is that FPS has pretty much been hit, I mean we don't need more that 100FPS, so that obstacle has been passed, the current obstacle is getting as much Eye candy on the screen as possible, the Radeon 8500 and geForce 3 look to help out on this, then I see the next frontier after that being working on more fluid and lifelike motion for the people in the games, and once that obstacle is passed I would believe there would be a cry for higher resolutions on monitors so we can really get more detail.

Yeah what do you mean War LOL. There already is one with the Consoles and PC. Well not really I mean ATI and Nvidia. ATI fought like hell to be in the X-Box but lost. Right now in both Console and PC ATI, PowerColor and Nvidia have taken over. No console will ever compare to there performance...EVER.

Future of Gaming??? i'm waiting for the brain input that you put in your head and it taps into your thinking procces, it is like your really in the game, like in the movie the 13th floor(think that was the name) $1000 for one. maybe more like $2500 if it can be use to make fantey come alive *wink* *wink*.

i'm hoping in the next 5 year you can have one in your home or in a gameing center. i would pay $200 for 30 minutes in one of thouse but i would pay $5000 to have one in my home (i can dream can't i)

The war is well under way.

We are entering into the last couple of generations of consoles, and the producers of those will milk them for all they are worth.

Ultimatly consoles have no future, as specialized gaming gear is integrated into the centralized home PC.

Already the gap in graphics is closed. Even ten years ago the PC couldn't even approach consoles in graphic quality, now they not only approach, but in some ways exceed.

The Paradigm is shifting towards an integrated entertainment system, and the PC is the ONLY logical foundation. In 10 years the home PC will be the brains behind the TV (HD or better), digital dish, DVD, Video messaging, V-conference, and of course gaming.

Nintendo and Sony know this, and seek only the leverage the last dollars out of a market soon to disappear.

Even now, the only way to compete is to make consoles more like PC's, with monitor connectons, storage devices, and modems.

dude i dunno about that.. chances are you would probably be hooking your brain directly up to some hardware to do that kinda stuff with no middle input device like say a keyboard ... that could be a problem... the last think i wanna do is give some developers and the entire internet full acess to my brain

Yeh, and if you think the Spyware in the current generation of P2P filesharers is bad, wait until they hook into one of these :-<

    i don't care!!!

i want the memory of me kills lots of people and not having to go to jail.

it dosn't go into yout brain it uses a unit on your head that taps into your brain

and no internet just a unit that hooks up to unit on your head that taps into your brain, you just plug it inot the wall (for power)and then incert a cd into the unit and have fun let your mind take over.
wounld'nt you love to do that?!?!?!?!?!

the pc right now is losing to the console. But in a year or so they will be ontop. When Doom 3 comes out, it will blow everything out of the water. I mean everything. Have you seen the new gameplay video. OMG...best looking game i have ever seen, it is atleast 2 or 3 years ahead of anything i've seen on any platform. Right now, the hardware on pc's isnt powerful enuff to compete with consoles. The radeon 8500 can do 60 million polys but it will be a while before any developers make use of it.

The graphics comparisons between PCs and consoles crack me up. Please most TVs only have 400-500 lines of resolution and current consoles and ones that are coming out don't take advantage of HDTV res.

    LOL,
whatever i don't know about you buddy but even with DC i notice a huge world of difference between 320x240 and 640x480
and you are telling me that you cant see the diffence between a monitor that can go up to 1600+ and a regular 320x240 television.. well if that REALLY is the case maybe you should wear your glasses afterall
