If you ask me there are too many MMORPG's PERIOD let alone games in the RPG area. Dude we need some MMOFPS games yo whats up with that!

Jeez all of them keep getting pushed back while the MMORPGs come out and will be hogging all the FPS players by the time a decent MMOFPS game is out.

I'm waiting for Star Wars Galaxies and PlanetSide, but you're right, there are many games in this category coming out in the "near" future. But, I doubt that all of them will see the light of day.

I hope there will be some company that actually invest in servers before the games go on to shelfs. Just look at the battle.net and you get the idea.
Hopefully some of them will be playable and internet can keep up. Don't lag me to death again.

It seems like MMORPGs are the next best thing next to RPGs companies have found to market the hell out of.

To me it already seems like MMORPGs are becoming like most current RPGs these days: rehashes of the exact same thing with nothing really new or fun to offer. I wish other genres would be focused on more, like maybe FPS, Tactical Strategy, or even SLGs. =/

Well, I don't know. I am looking forward (tentatively) to the Star Wars one. Unfortunately, Verant is making it.

I think that the concept of a MMORPG is really cool. It just seems that the execution so far has been lacking.

I played EQ for about 2 months. The game wasn't finished and they announced that they were working "hard" on an expansion. I thought "***, your working on an expansion? Why not finish the game first"?

Diablo II was a waste of my money. I liked the game but it was entirely unplayable online because of lag. The "We can't provide the bandwidth for you to play our online game because we sold too many copies" excuse just doesn't work for me. BTW, the "their letting us play for free so don't *****" line doesn't work either. It said on the box that I could play online, therefore I paid to be able to play online.

Asherons Call. I didn't like the idea of the allegiance system so I never played. I don't want a game where when all is said and done the most popular person will be twice as powerful as I am even though I am 3 times their level. Sounds like sim-highschool to me.

Thankfully I had an idea what AO was going to be like and skipped the experience altogether.

DAOC just doesn't appeal to me (although I heard a pretty much unbelievable rumor that the game works). I guess I'm just not an Arthurian fan.

Finally, I don't "get" MMOFPS. Isn't that what Tribes II is? If they try to combine the elements of an MMORPG with a FPS what will you have? A newbie with a pistol and 20 health trying to frag a 50th level guy with an auto-mega-cannon and 2000 health?

I'm sorry but you are sadly mistaken Phaethon. Diablo II is an excellent game. Actually, it was only a single player game. They added the multiplayer for free. Becuase they would charge us for going online. And you paid for SINGLE player. So shut up. And World of Warcraft looks awesome.
