NTLDR missing

I'm running Win98 SE, and when I rebooted my system this morning it told me that NTLDR was missing press any key to reboot. So if anyone knows whats going on and how I can fix this, I'd greatly appriciate any help you can give me.

NTLDR stands for NT Loader, it loads winnt when you boot up. my guess is that you have been playing about with winnt or win2k. the easiest solution is to reinstall

boot up with win98 boot floppy, then

fdisk /mbr

restart, then at a: prompt

sys c:
or
c:\windows\command\sys c:

restrart.
you are all set!

try to sys c: and fdisk /mbr

maybe u resolve it..

use a win98 bootable disk

Try this:

Boot into DOS mode. Copy the file NTLDR from the Win2000 CD into the Win98 partition. Also copy NTDETECT. Thats it.

Ya, do the sys C: and make sure that you also don't have a BOOT.INI file. Either rename it or delete it and you should be fine.
