    Question Soundcard differences

Are there any differences in the 3 Sound Blaster Audigy cards (OEM, Xgamer, and MP3+)??? I mean besides the software that comes with the sound card. Are the cards themselves identical?

    Thanks

The OEM doesn't have gold plated outputs whereas the MP3 and XGamer do. IIRC that is the only difference.

Well the Platinum versions are way out of my price range. I'm looking for a good sound card for under $100. I'm still debating between the 3 Audigys. What's better the Xgamer or the MP3+?

It depends, do you listen more to mp3s than you play games? Each Audigy has a set of instruments that caters to the users needs. Personally I play a lot of games, so picking the X-Gamer over the others was easy.

I'm still saving up to build a new rig... While everyone else has already joined the darkside.

Hmmm this will be a hard one for me. I don't really ever play games on my computer but I might start getting a few (certain games that don't come to my videogame system). I do listen to music on my computer quite often, but they usually aren't MP3s. Decisions decisions. Any help is appreciated

The Xgamer is better than the MP3+??? If so then I guess I should get it.

there is only one single difference between all the cards, no matter what anyone says, the bundled software, MP3+ is a waste unless you're a DJ who runs his stuff on a computer. just get the X-gamer

Why not just get the 'Audigy Digital Entertainment' version?

I haven't heard of the 'Audigy Digital Entertainment' version. Is it just both of them (MP3 and Xgamer) combined? Or is it something different/new??? Well if you could let me know about it and/or provide some links about it.

The reason I'm not gonna buy both J_C_Denton1 is because I'm not rich and don't have much money to spend. I wish things were that simple.

Well most likely I'll be getting the Xgamer but who knows...

    Not exactly true!
The OEM Audigy has non-gold plated outputs:

The XGamer and MP3+ do have gold plated outputs:

Well the Gold Plated is obviously worth the extra money. Look how shiny it is!
