    XP Pro and XP Home....

Is there really a big performance difference in them? I currently have Home Edition on my new laptop and I am wondering if I should upgrade to Professional. My laptop is a 1.2 Ghz and 512MB of RAM...

    thanx,

That answer seems pretty accurate to me. One of the biggest differences is Home's lack of multi-processor support. Other than that, if you are satisified, it's probably not worth messing with.

AFAIK and know one has shown me different yet there is no performance difference (apart from pro may use a bit more ram as it offers more??).
If you want to run a webserver, need lots more networking support, want the full capabilities of remote working (although I'd just use VNC) then get pro. If you think your computer is gonna run faster then I'm sorry it won't.

No performance difference, just Pro supports more network based features.
