sub placement
well, my 3rd pair of the z-560's will be here tonight, hopefully. they better not blow on me or ill be hella pissed! anyways, i was wondering, people say that its good to put the sub in the corner of a room. but which way should it be facing? like the actual speaker of the sub, do you want that facing twoards the wall or out twoards the room(or im my case facing part of my desk).

I have my sub back underneath my bed in my dorm, near the corner. I experimented and in my case it didn't really matter which way I had the actual speaker facing, It was pretty much all the same. Experiment when you get them and see what happens, and good luck with them!

i made my own speaker stands for my promedia's. these stands will work with any speaker that uses a single screw into the bottom of the speaker stand, like the promedia's

I dont seem to notice the diff when the sub is facing in random directions but i keep mine in the corner of my room. The port on the sub is facing out though.

it doesn't really matter, just as long as it is close to you because low sounds like that don't travel in a particular direction, it just goes all over like a ripple in a pond.

But does the ripple travel forever? No, of course not. If your speakers are simulating an earthquake, and you have your speaker on your desk (I know you do), then the sound will have to travel through your desk to the ground then to be felt by your feet. If the subwoofer is in your corner, then it will resonate throughout your room very well since it is against both your walls plus your floor.
