How sesitive is a motherboard to static?

Trying to help my buddy. How sensitive is a mboard to a shock? He didnt' use a wrist band and don't think he touched the case prior to touching the mboard.

    How do motherboards go bad?

Well, if he had on a shirt with long sleeves then it could "shock" the motherboard very easily. I dont think there to seseptiable to static though. My friend sat his K7S5A on my carpet and I was like AHHHHH take it off the floor. I didnt lay that static free bag there for no reason. It worked fine hehe, he did that with his sound card too.

In fact he's not very smart. LoL
