Diva M200's

Ok here goes. I told you gluegun I wouldn't do a big review or nothing but I will give you my first day impressions on my new setup. The M200's on there own I think would have been a disappointment to me. They have great highs but seem to lack a little in the midrange and definately lack the lows. If the bass is turned much more than half the speaker distort fairly easily at high levels. So to turn them up loud the bass needs to sit at about the 10 o'clock position(almost non-existant). I know you said they have a break in time but this is just the right out of the box experience. You wouldn't want to run them against a set of the more popular 4.1 (641's, 560's, etc.)systems on there own. They would just get killed. Now the build quality is totally awesome. These things are HUGE, heavy and built tough yet still look elegant. Kind of hard to make room on a small desk for them so I think I may get some speaker stands for them. They fit but just a little crowded. Now here's the kicker. Pair these speakers with the hsu vtf2 sub and DAMN. This sub really amazes me at how much bass it can put out. Its relatively small for a home theatre sub but I'd put this up against any sub under $1000. It just hits hard, i literally had pictures fall off the wall in the other room . It gives you one of those feelings where your eyeballs kind of vibrate in your head . It to has an extremely good build quality. The outside of it is almost like the tough coat you put in the bed of trucks to protect the steel. I haven't "really" got a chance to mess with all the features but I do have it tuned pretty good. The combination of this sub and the diva speakers makes for an awesome sounding system. The only downfall is the volume control is seperate to use the sub and speakers together. I'm sure a little more money could solve this problem. But overall I can say i'm very satisfied with this system.

Its as harmful or as gentle as you want to make it. Just your personal preferance. By now you know mine

Hey, guess what?

The M-200's bass sucks when you get them first.

They NEED a LOT of burn-in for the bass to fill in.... which it will. Not a lot compared to the 641's or z560's, but it will get more powerful...

But, well, place them fairly close to a wall, do a bunch of burn in, and the bass on the m-200's will get a lot better!!

I am just driving the point home that, when they break in, bass is the FIRST thing they gain...

Thats good to here. Hopefully it will pick up a little more in that mid bass area where it seems to be lacking.

The midbass on the M-200's will increase with burn in and proper placement near a wall...

The sound of my speakers (OK not the same ones) improved considerably once I'd used them for a few weeks. Give it time.

I now have my old speakers on my other computer. They are Altec Lansing ada880's. Which are pretty good for computer speakers and I thought they sounded good before. Now all I can say is I just made my old speakers sound like complete ****.

Yup, the M-200's *ALONE* make you think that about MOST computer speakers...

Well, 1ctabor, for that sub comment, do you know who bob carver is? If you did, you'd know that the hsu sub does NOT stand up against any sub under $1000, there are some svs that beat it for under a grand, and dare I say they kill it?

Well, I did say I would put it up against any sub under 1000. Not once did I say it would outperform them all.
