    Post 3com ISA modem and Win2k-PRO

    hardware;
    AMD 1.1ghz T-bird
    Abit KT7A-Raid
    etc...
    3COM 56k fax, internal ISA modem

    software;
    Windows 2000 pro, SP2

    issue;
    cant get my modem to load properly in windows (IE, I get a "cannot communicate with hardware" message when I try and query the modem)

    I've played with the jumpers on the modem to specify various COM ports and IRQ's
    tried modifying the IRQ's for the device in windows(I installed Win2k as a non ACPI compliant PC so I am able to play with the IRQ's)

    I dont know what to check anymore, when I go into the modem property's it says its on COM3 when I set the jumpers for COM2, and when I set the junmpers for COM3 the modem disappears from my device list.

    help!
