    Post DVD Playback issues

I just got my Pioneer 106s DVD ROM drive. I installed it and was trying to check and see how it plays back DVD videos. When I run the DVD software it tells me that errors may occur if DMA isn't enabled. So I went and double checked my BIOS to make sure that it was enabled, and it was. Is there anywhere else where I need to enable it.

It will playback audio but not video. If anyone knows whats goin on, I'd greatly appriciate some help.

Running Win2K - rest in sig.

you will also need to check it in device manager and check under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers". select the IDE channel the dvd drive is attached to and see if DMA is enabled under properties and advanced settings.

Well, sort of. You make it sound way more difficult than it is. Just go into Device Manager like you say, but all you have to do is double click on the DVD-ROM drive then click on the settings tab and check the DMA box.

Well...I got the DMA issue fixed, but I still can't see video. Any suggestions...the software is just what came with my video card, Ravisent Cinemaster. Any suggestions?

BTW I'm also running the Detonator XP drivers, this may be the problem, as the software was only tested with Det4...

Make sure you have the latest supported dvd decoders for winxp installed. Also you need to make sure you have dvd software that will play the movies. With xp though, so long as you have decoders for the dvd, then you can play the movies through windows media player.
