    Angry Hiss when playing DVDs!

Whenever I play a DVD with my new LG 16x DVD, there is very audible hiss. Now, I'm fairly sure it's not the drives fault. I use PowerDVD 2.55, and I have tried to change the audio settings from Dolby Surround, to Stereo, to A3D, to DirectSound, nothing. Always a hiss. I disabled Digital Output on my DVD-ROM in the device manager, and that didn't do much. My speakers aren't digital, so I thought that may have been the problem. But it wasnt. So I am out of ideas. Refer to my system specs below if need be.

does it also do this "hiss" thing when you play an audio CD in your dvd drive? If it does it could be your drive or the audio cable plugged into your drive. Also try to switch the audio cable to a different plug on your sound card. that might help.

Check that you have the cd-analog, cd-digital, mic inputs muted on your volume control, this happens for me.
