Video Hardware Question

Hey there. Can someone please either explain or give me a link to information concerning the performance measurements of current GPU's. What are the important numbers? What is core speed as opposed to memory speed? What is RAMDAC, fill rate, texels, etc. Which of these variables are important and which are just marketing fluff?
