    Need Help with Volcano 7+

Hey I am building a new system and I picked up a V7+ I need to know how to connect it.

It comes with two yellow wires one from the fan and one from the speed control unit. Where do these go? I figure at least one has to connect to the cpu fan1 on the Mobo for a speed read out, But I am not sure?

    Thanks for any help.

    Same problem

I am trying to attach the same fan. i posted an e-mail at Thermaltek's website but have no yet heard from them. That second yellow wire is a mystery to me. I geuss it is supposed to tell something of the fan speed but I am not sure my motherboard has a plug for it.

here is the link, the yellow wire from the fan plugs into the mobo, and the red and black plug in to the fan control and the fan control plugs into a open 4 pin connector off your PSU.

Btw, are you using it on the P4 or an AMD? If your using it on a P4 beware it does not fit all P4 478 motherboards. It would not make contact with the CPU on my Asus P4TE.

If you are installing it on a AMD here is the link

    Looked at that already

I have looked at that link. The problem is that there is an additional yellow wire from the fan speed controller that is not listed either in that instruction or in the one that came with the fan.

Did you guys check out this review from extremeOC.com? They mention double connectors,(RPM sensor/pwr).

    Volcano7+ article

Edit: Posted this late. It's fairly vague on the subject, but here it is anyways.

    This is what I noticed

OK we know that the yellow wire from the Fan goes to the Fan1 connector on your Mobo, but what about the wire from the speed controller??????

No one says anything about this wire anywhere? Do you just not use it???
