John Carmack (aka God), where is the new id software engine?

I don't know, I have this file on my HDD, named doom3.mpg. Ah, the Doom III engine. Well, I watched it again recently, and it reminded me of how old it is. February 21, 2001. Man... that's over 14 months since the new "engine" was shown, and I don't think I have seen anything else about it since. I don't know, I just want an update or something, some kind of an updated video or interesting article explaining the steps they are at in finalizing the engine or whatever. I feel like I shouldn't have a video file on my HDD that dates 2.21.01. I just like anticipating stuff, I don't want doom III to spring out of nowhere later this year or something. This thing is going to be groundbreaking, so many games will be built on this engine, or a modified version of it. I want something to finally be rid of the Quake III engine which IMO needs to be put to rest. God, please tell me there won't be any more Quake II engine games, cause that would be hillarious. Where are the updates? Where is there an interview with John Carmack that is recent (<90 days old)? Something new!?

JC is god!!

If it were not for ID and JC we would prolly not have most of the greatest games ever made!

You all owe JC and ID if you enjoy any FPS made

Well, probably every post ever made in this forum offends someone to some degree, and I won't apologize for that remark, because it's my opinion. I wasn't bashing anyone or belittling anyone in this forum.

Also John Carmack doesn't want over media exposure is why and if you think about it he makes a valid point. Many in fact 90% of the FPS games coming out from now until 2004 the devs have stated that they siimply dont want to spoil the best features before its even out (kinda like the good ole $7+ movies you go see)

I see your point. Still, a estimated release date maybe? Nothing like that hurts in case he doesn't want to give away some of the detailed things that go on in Doom III.

Well maybe he doesn't want to set a date and then have to push it back. People get very upset when that happens.

yah i dont want an estimated date but perhaps a general time frame date. im planning on building a whole new rig just for doom3. im going to indent the word DOOM on my case, paint it black,put a red light in it and window in the side for everyone to see.

meh, i dont believe or not believe in god. my theory is im not going to draw a conclusion as to whether he exists or not until it's proven to me.
