Unhappy Tyan Trinity 400 (Via Apollo 133) m/b + Win XP = NO?

Ok, here I am again. First my rig:

Tyan Trinity 400 (Via Apollo Pro 133) 1.07 bios
    P3 500e@700mhz
256 mhz pc 133 Crucial SDRAM
    Geforce 3 Ti 200
    SBLive
    Sony 52x CDrom

I can install Win 98/98se, ME, and 2000 no problem. but come time to upgrade a fresh win 98 install to XP Pro....forget it. During install I randomly get the blue screen with this in the top left corner: "Hardware Failure Please Contact System Administrator Setup Halted"

What the hell? After many, many....many forced cold boots I finally got it installed but then am walking on egg shells as the blue screen likes to pop up once in a while. UNSTABLE to say the least. So.. I decided to do this: Put my CPU at its default 500mhz, remove the sblive and load bios and setup defaults for max compatibility, obviously. NOPE. Stil blue screens. Ok, then I formatted and installed Win 98 and was going to try the upgrade again, this time removing once of my dimm chips. NOPE. To make a looong story short I rearranged the dimm chips and even swapped them out many times and still get the same problem. So, all I can think is that it is my m/b. we ALL know about the ill-fated VIA APollo pro chipset. Don't we?

So any advice would be greeeeat!! Anyone with same m/b have a successful install of XP Pro? Thanks guys!!

Some one please post something. I am typing this on a laptop and am using the backspace key a LOT. I hate these keyboards. Took me forever to post this. So even just a courtesy reply would be great. Anything! Even "Sux to be you!" or something. ha ha. Can't believe I still have a sense of humor after 6 hours of trying to upgrade my box. Thanks

i came across a similiar problem, but i had a via apollo pro 133a motherboard and with win2k. the way i got around this was that i needed to disable the onboard sound chip in the bios if you have one.
