Need help asap, computer freezes non-stop
Well guys, Ive got a problem here,
Until recently, ive been playing online games with no problems, whatsoever. About a week ago, my games just started to freeze non-stop. So I looked to see what the problem may be. I play Half Life-TFC and you can run in 3 modes : software, opengl, and d3d. I can run software quite well, the other 2, which look alot better, freeze when i first join a server when using them. When they freeze they do so on a sound loop thats continuous and I have to reboot each and every time they occur. I do have temperature problems also, about 60 C or so when I play games. Not sure why its so high. These are my specs, any and all help is much appreciated, Ive reinstalled windows about 3 times to no avail each time.
Win 98SE
Biostar M7MIA
AMD Athlon 1.33 w/raid
GeForce 2 Pro 64MB
256 DDR
SB Live
Maxtor 40GB
Really in desperate need of help, any help is appreciated.

You need better cooling.. that tbird dosen't like running processor intensive applications at such high temps..also..do you have the latest drivers for the GeForce?

Have you done anything to the system with in the last week to cause these problems? Oc'ing cpu/video card, etc.
Specs - mobo: Asus m2n-sli deluxe with an Athlon X2 4200. Videocard: 7900gt Ram: 2 gigs

1) Drivers are version 28.32
2) Ive never overclocked anything in my comp.
Any other ideas?
Could it just be the video card temp?
b/c it never freezes in software mode

That win 98 isn't exactly helping either. Get XP or win 2k.
Also make your system cooler by getting more fans or a better heatsink.
