My brother bought a refurbished Sony laptop about 3 years ago. It's still working great to this day. It's your choice.

I have bought many things refurbished and I haven't had any problems with them. So I would have to say go for it.

I have a refurbished Ipaq 3635. Also have bought several refurbished monitors with no problems at all.

As long as it's factory refurbished, and has a generous warranty, you should be fine. For items like handhelds and laptops, some times there's some minor wear and tear. Whether or not that's important is up to you.

Anytime you buy refurbished you have to give yourself a 50/50 chance that you will have to return it in the next couple months. Make sure it's from a reputable reseller or factory store. Sometimes you find gold in refurbished items sometimes you get someone elses garbage.
