...since i got a VGA box for my Gamecube. I would highly recomend it to anyone who has been on the fence about it. The difference in detail is amazing. My Gamecube games now look better then some of my PC games. With the cables and equipment for my USB hub, controllers, VGA box and all the Gamecube wires and whatnot my computer desk is looking a bit like some mad computer scientists lab, Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Innovation at Electronics Boutique. The one I bought works for Gamecube, SNES, N64 and has a second plug for Xbox.

Bought it mainly for Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance because that game's graphics are a bit fuzzy on a TV but then I played Waverace: Blue Storm on my 21" and...WOW. You can really see the difference in that game. Everything is super clear, really impressive. Metroid Prime's graphics are already oustanding on a TV so you don't notice the difference as much. Dark Alliance is so clear now i can see that the lizard men have spots and are not just solid green.

Might not be such a big improvement for me cuz I only have a cheapo envision 19" which is not a trinitron flat screen tube. If i had a really sweet monitor though , i bet GC would look really cool on it.

Actually that VGA box isn't what it's cracked up to be.

For starters, it only supports 480i mode, not 480P or 720P or 1080i.
The DC VGA actually worked because the Games themselves supported VGA modes (800 by 600 like in Skies or Arcadia).

They only difference would be color since it's acting as a component input (RBG) instead of the composite (yellow) standards. If you TV supports component video I would just leave it as is otherwise you're not getting much of an advantage.

There are a few VGA adapters that supports 480P modes but they aren't cheap ($200+).

I don't know bout any of that but i can say that the improvment im seeing from TV to Pc is more then just sharper colors.

What were you using for your TV?

If you didn't know.

RF = crappiest connection (old tv's)
Composite (Yellow, Red, White) = standard (it's what comes with the consoles)
S-video = sharper image
Comp(Red, Green, Blue) = best, sharp and colorful.

That VGA box only acts as a Component video (states so). So if your TV already supports this than it's quite worthless getting one for your PC especially considering the size of TV's.

That's VGA box really isn't that great, you can even read it's reviews from EB (2/5 average). There's better ones out there but $$$ costs more.
