If its opticcal you dont really need a mouse pad. Whoa $15 for a mousepad. Sounds like a DIY project ot me.

Edit: I've also heard that a white surface is best for optical mice.

I swear by Ratpadz. I have 3 of em here at the house and I get them for everyone I build a PC for.
I use all optical mice as well and you just can't beat having a ratpad under the mouse.
Get the Ratpadz. You won't regret it.

Even though you dont need a mousepad for an Optical... I just prefer it.. I dont like the way the mouse glides on the surface of my desk.. I prefer it to be on a pad...

My mouse pad whoops ***. It has a ELECOM emblem in 1 corner and is totally blue. It only sticks about 1mm up off of my desk and has little hairs sticking out of it. The base is rubber with a sticky surface.

I disagree, i bought a Ratpadz and hated it, the bump between where it rested and the desk was just too high, and i really didnt like the sliding my hand over the surface.
