Tock:
What do you do?Quote:
you slam on the table in fury and utterly terrify the two halflings sitting in front of you. They get up as fast as they can and run full speed out the front door. You come to realize that the two people you have been interrogating were not actually your companions but must have been some random patrons of this establishment.
As you turn your gaze around the room, you can see that all eyes are on you. Not all of them look friendly.
You suddenly notice an old male dwarf standing beside you, inspecting you very intently. He sees that you have noticed him and smiles wide.
"Greetings! My, you are tall. Not from around here, are you? I couldn't help but hear you asking about where you could find a weaponsmith in these parts and i am happy to say that I know just the place! Come, come!"
he takes a few steps towards the door and eagerly gestures for you to follow.
Ashen:
I know you said you're going to be busy with the new baby so if you don't respond to this in a day or two I'm just going to have Ashen greet Tock and stay with him for a while.Quote:
You ask the waitress her name and when she will be getting off from her shift.
"I'm Kitsune, and I'm not interested. Cheesy one-liners and disheveled men just don't do it for me."
As she begins walking away you hear a very loud BANG come from the larger dining area. To your dismay you see Tock towering over two unfortunate halflings who quickly turn and run away in fear. You do not know what course of actions led to this point and you're not really sure you want to know. The dwarf sitting beside you at the bar seems to become much more focused and quickly moves to intercept Tock. After some words, you see this dwarf take a few steps towards the door then gesture for Tock to follow him.

It's almost 2am so I'm going to hit the sack. I'll edit this post tomorrow and make a response for you.
Like I said with Taggart, I'm going to scale back some of your last update as you shouldn't be doing that much narration on your own. :)
The idea is that you are roleplaying your character and the DM controls the world around you. It's like playing a video game but the world and all the NPCs aren't static; you don't have preset conversation choices, you have an actual human being playing the part of everyone that isn't a player character and the things you do and the ideas everyone comes up with shape the world. This flows a lot better when you're sitting around a table or interacting in real time, but lets try to make the best of play-by-post. :D
EDIT: Actually, before I proceed with what to do next - you're wearing leather armor so I don't know what kind of machine would be used for cleaning that, generally that would need to be done by hand. I like your little misadventure so if you still want to go ahead with that we will, just something to think about. ;)

I stare pensively at the dwarf eagerly gesturing to me from the doorway. Although just as eager to see his wares, experience has taught me to be careful of things that break and bleed so easily and the rash actions that dominate their being. Why can't these creatures be more like trees.
I size him up and figure its worth the risk. I really do need a hammer and we are in a town. Worse comes to worse, I could always rip his arms off if he tries something. Ashen probably won't like that though. Maybe just a finger then?
I turn to Ashen and say in a matter of fact tone, "Ashen, I'm going out for a bit to see what this Dwarf has and hopefully pick up a new hammer and maybe some throwing hammers. I promise not to rip off any one's arms unless the situation demands it. If I'm not back in hour, come get me."
I turn to the eager dwarf, walk up to him and say, "Thank you sir. Please lead the way."

The dwarf is so excited he is practically skipping out the door. He leads you out and to the south, walking briskly while whistling some unknown tune.
"Oh, pardon me, I haven't yet introduced myself! My name is Teldorthan Ironhews. I moved into this city severals years ago along with my two sons Boborthan and Roborthan and we haven't had any desire to leave since. We make a good living here and the people always seem so friendly!"
Teldorthan fetches a pipe from his pocket and inserts it into his mouth. He begins chewing on the stem while patting himself down. The dwarf stops for a moment and lights the pipe, taking a large, appreciative draw from the tobacco within.
Seeming much calmer than before, Teldorthan resumes a more leisurely pace, turns to you and extends his hand.
"And what's your story, pal?"

You arrive at the local Holy Order of Bahamut and Company office. The structure looks something like a chapel from the outside, with THOBaC carved into the stone face of the building just beneath the symbol of Bahamut. The walls in the entryway are carved marble, with a very luxurious blue carpet stretching all the way to the other end of the room. As you enter, you are greeted by a young human woman sitting at a large desk against the far wall, flanked on either side by a row of stone chairs. In a very flat, professional tone, the woman greets you.
"Hello, and welcome to The Holy Order of Bahamut and Company's Fallcrest offices. How can we help you today?"

I introduce myself and give the dwarf a general explanation of my background. I mention to him that I don't know much about where or when I came from but that I was dug up by a group of scholars a few years ago and I'm now wandering the world in hopes of finding info about my past and about a someone close to me that was murdered. I'm quick to move on to my recent adventure fighting the kobolds, slaying the dragon, and my recent morning events in the Inn.
"Then you asked me to follow you and here we are. So what is it you and your sons do in this town?"

The dwarf listens intently while quietly smoking his pipe. As you explain your history, he leads you further along the road and down a large hill towards the south end of the city. You pass some more houses and approach a large building with a chimney spewing black smoke as you are wrapping up your story. The dwarf stops in front of this building, and turns to you, grinning widely.
"What is it we do? See for yourself!"
You look up and notice a large sign on the front of the building that reads "Teldorthan Arms" written in a raised font that commands a feeling of power and style. As you look closer you notice the T is actually a maul, painted black and red in such a way that it appears as though blood has stained the head and flowed down the handle.
"So; what can I do for you?"

"Oh, you must be Werk! Balasar told me you might be stopping by. Let me get him."
The woman presses a button on her desk and speaks into a small black box beside it.
"Balasar? That cleric you asked about has arrived and is waiting for you in the front lobby."
She releases the button and you hear the voice of your contact come out from the box.
"Well do not keep him waiting, send him in!"
The woman looks at you and says, "right this way, sir."
She leads you down a hallway to a elaborately-carved wooden door with the name "Balasar Sharpfang" carved into it. The receptionist knocks twice then quickly opens the door, revealing a moderately-sized room furnished with a large wooden bookcase against the wall, several paintings hanging on a nearby wall and a beautiful wooden desk towards the back wall with two chairs placed in front of it. You recognize the dragonborn sitting on the opposite end of the desk as your contact, Balasar Sharpfang.
Balasar says, "Thank you, Sandy. Come in my friend, have a seat. Were you able to locate the artifact?"

I take a seat facing Balasar and begin to remove the hide from my satchel. It is quite heavy and still dusty from its long stay in the dungeon. I quickly realize my blunder and mentally knock myself for not trying to at least make it presentable to Balasar. I feebly try to knock some of the dust off but it starts to make a mess on the floor.
"I apologize for this. Uhm, as you can see I did obtain the artifact, but I can drop it by the mezzanine for storage if it is causing too much trouble."
"None-the-less, we were successful. However, I must tell you that the dungeon was much more than a simple infestation. We found an altar to their god and a dragon was guarding the artifact. I'm glad we got their in time, as it looked to me that they were preparing to come to the surface... for dubious purposes."

I unsheathe my great sword from its strap and swing it forward in a wide arc in a frightful speed, bringing it a few inches away and above the dwarf's head. "Do you see this weapon? I found it in an abounded campsite a few months back during my travels. Since then I've used it as my own but it is not for me. It has served me well and kept me safe. It has even slain an ice dragon, but even then it does not feel like my own. No, this is not a weapon for Tock."
I swing my sword back to its strap and tightly secure it in its resting place. "I need a new weapon master dwarf. This blade will not do. I heard tales of battle hardened dwarfs riding into battle with war hammers and mauls of incredible power, crushing all that would threaten them as they rang blow after blow against their enemy." I look at the maul shaped T on the Teldorthan Arms sign and grin. "I think I will be needing such a weapon on my journey."
I look back to the Dwarf and pat him on the shoulder as I say, "I need a hammer worthy of my strength, and I think you are the person to help me."
Sidenote: How do you want to handle war-forged components. I've refrained from talking about them since I'm not sure how they fit in your world and if they are even available.
I'm new to it myself, but Warforged components range from the unique (crafted for them specifically) to the regular (basic items retrofitted to be attached to war-forged. They included weapons, armor, shield, implements, storage, and even NPCs.
I put a copy of the dragon magazine that has a description of it in my shared drive under the Tock folder. Take a look and let me know what you think. If my character is unique we could treat them as 1)ancient items that can be found or purchased through weapon /antique collectors and 2) basic tiems that a skilled blacksmith/tinker can attache or embed to my body.
I think a docent is an awesome idea.
