So do you just not get any usable RAM with a card like that in a 32-bit OS?

I really don't see the point to a 4GB frame buffer. It might make a bit of a difference in benching, for which this card is obviously designed, but that's it. The problem with this, or any, dual GPU card is that it's not 4GB of memory. It's two 2GB frame buffers. AMD and nVidia really need to work on getting two GPUs to read from a single frame buffer pool. They wouldn't need so much memory if they did.

Well, 4GB (meaning 2GB available to each GPU) should be useful for those going EyeFinity. I believe my 1GB cards are nearing the limit of 1GB for frame buffer and texture @5760x1200, max detail + 2-4xAA. Should have hung on for 2GB HD5870's.......CURSES!!!

That's what I was trying to tell him richard. He should get rid of his old and antiquated cards and update to the new ones. I would gladly dispose of his old ones for him...Heck I'd even pay for shipping

You`re so anti-AMD, whether it comes to CPUs or graphics cards, it almost seems like you`re getting paid for it.

Yeah, except it would ruin the experience if it were and AMD or an nVidia card. Doesn't matter if it's Eyefinity or whatever fancy name nVidia will push. The only exception would be flight simulators, but they don't make combat flight sims anymore so I'm not interested. It's about as pointless as that goofy 3D setup nVidia pushes. Get over yourself.

Extremely rare, but a good VR headset with head tracking and game support > multiple monitors.
One reason why I must have a dedicated Win98SE system... for my VFX3D.
