They have 4-5 really good players at the top of there roster, the middle of the roster is mediocre and the bottom part is aweful. Would have thought that the Cowboys would have learned their lesson after signing Deion Sanders back in the 90's. They had a roster then that was DEEP. Deion's massive contract then raped them of their depth. AND quality players in starting positions as well.
Deion basically guaranteed them a Superbowl the year that they signed him. But I think that they would have won one anyways even without him. They were just way too strong. But I think that that one signing had more to do with the Cowboys demise in the 90's tha anything else.
Depth is important as you say. And it appears that Jerry Jones still hasn't figured that one out. Which is exactly why I think that he's one of the worst owners in the league. Because he meddles too much.
