    I'm not quite done with it (though I've beaten the game with like 10 characters now) but I've certainly put in enough playtime with Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes (technically Sengoku Basara 3, I believe) to have a verdict: it's freaking great if you're into Musou games at all. Totally off the wall story and script, doesn't even pretend to be serious like many of the Musou games do (as serious as the story can be when a single person is murdering several thousand by himself, at any rate). I mean, hell, Tadakatsu Honda is basically a Gundam.

    Haven't played a Musou game in quite a while, but I get a jones-ing for them every once in a while and this has certainly hit the spot.

    I haven't even loaded the single player of the game yet. Having too much fun with multiplayer. I'll probably play it after I unlock everything or get bored with the MP.

    Just Beat Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

    IMHO its a mixed bag of sloppy mechanics but really good story characterization. The combat controls, camera angle, and platforming mechanics are all a bit wonky and really hinder what could have been a great game. Combat especially can get very tedious and I wish there was a wider selection of enemies instead of the classic 4 you fight over and over and over again. However, the worse enemy will be the camera which you will constantly be fighting as you try to move around the battle field and evade/block attacks.

    What really shines in this game are the characters. The dialogue is well written, and you see some real relationships forming that don't feel rushed or forced. The story starts off strong but takes a bit of a nose dive in the end with a twist ending that although not horrible seems like more of a Deus Ex Machina because the developers ran out of ideas or money. It left me with more questions then answers but since the sequel for the game was canceled I guess I'll just have to make up my own reasons. Maybe that was the intent, but I felt the game could have explored the ending a bit more then a single dialogue exchange that surmounts to" Whoops, it was all a crazy mix up!"

    All in all I did enjoy that game and I recommend it. Despite some its failings, the overall game is pretty polished and fun to play. A shame they won't make a sequel since this game deserves more attention then it got. Play on normal mode to beat the game and then move on to something else. Not really worth a second play-through unless your a completest.

    The "platforming" in general gets to me because there is really no sense of you actually controlling anything; don't worry about ever missing a jump or swing because you can't even jump off a ledge unless there is someplace to jump to.

    The environments and art design are amazing, though, and worth the price of admission for what you can buy the game for these days. I don't like how organic a lot of stuff looks in, say, a forest, then suddenly you see a bunch of perfectly spaced perfectly straight branches sticking out somewhere, then a vertical pipe and some metal studs for basically no reason. They stick out much more than the holds in something like inFamous; in that, while there were certain parts where the silliness of location of platforming holds was kind of obvious, for the most part you were just jumping up the features of buildings and it was a lot more natural.

    Enslaved is the epitome of the hand held platformer. No real skill needed since your protected by invisible walls. It really is no different then just running down a hall. At least the scenery looks nice.

    If they had more time to fine tune some aspects Enslaved would have been amazing. I loved the game but came to blows with the controls (almost as if there was input lag) a lot. I'd love to see a sequel that fixes the issues but that will probably never happen.

    I also found some interesting moments that showed a bit of a disconnect between the writers and the artists. First was when early on Monkey said his vehicle was "two wheels and an engine" and then when you get it it actually has three wheels, second was right after they talk about how nobody had killed a dog robot before and in the VERY NEXT SCENE they ride past some ruins where a dog's head is featured prominently.

    Just finished with Bioshock 2.

    And by finished, I mean I played about 6 hours of it and had enough. Not a horrible game, but I got pretty bored of it. The story is okay but the game lacks alot of the initial wow the original had.

    I also found the combat to be less polished then before. The game initially boils down to walking into a large room and fighting a group of enemies. Rinse and repeat with some minor corridor changes and that basically sums up a large part of the combat IMHO.

    I agree. At least Bioshock Infinite looks like it's going to capture that same OMG factor for me that the first Bioshock had.

    The rail system looks to help spice things up and the Elizabeth character looks to bring a new twist to combat since she plays a support role. I only hope she doesn't suffer from the usual AI issues mostly found in AI controlled support characters.

    I'm not done with it yet, but I started playing FFXIII last week and I'm at the start of Disc 3 now. 20+ hours in, I'm really enjoying the game. I shot it down when I bought it at release because I wasn't happy with the combat system, now I wish I had given it a little more time. Debating whether or not I should buy FFXII-2 when I'm done with this, but I plan on buying Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City on the 20th so I may not have time for it XD

    I felt the same way. I'm finishing the post-game content now (maxing levels, etc.) but bored with it. Liked the game all the way through though.

    Just finished The Baconing (Deathspank sequel). I love the humor in those games.
