On a side note, I've found it humorous at all the people who took off work and are whining that they can't play because of server issues or haven't gotten their copy delivered yet. Who still takes off work to play a game? Not only are you paying $60-$100 bucks for the game, but you're also giving up a full days pay or a vacation/sick day. I realize people are excited to finally play but come on, the game isn't going anywhere.
I agree. I have to pack and move today and feel no need at all to play. Real life comes before videogames. I used to act sick to play games when I was a kid, but as an adult, no. Blast Corp was the last game I skipped RL to play lol.

The funny thing is that these people think Blizzard owe them something extra because they decided to skip work and their plans didn't quite work out.

I find it hilarious when people who get mad at any entertainment company. No one MADE you pay $60 for the game. No one FORCED you take the day off work. No one FORCES you to buy the DLC.

You can, you know, buy it later or not at all. There is a certain level of entitlement that is really unprecedented in the history of the world when it comes to big entertainment brands.

I work for EA, but don't care for a lot of their pricing models, so I don't play their games anymore. My life has yet to collapse as a consequence. D3 servers are probably going to be wonky for a few days, so I might just wait, instead of spending money now and getting pissed off about it when I full well know exactly what's going on.

I get a ton of leave to use, so spending a half day of it isn't a big deal at all to me, but the reason I put in a half day of leave today has less to do with me being in the OMG DIABLO III I MUST PLAY IT NOW crowd and more about just not particularly enjoying work and being glad to have a reason to get out of it. This is a new thing to me since I never, from kindergarten through my master's degree, even skipped school to play a game.

Incidentally, I start a new job in June, from which I hope I never have the desire to take time off for a video game launch.

Not sure what's worse, people complaining that the servers down or people complaining about people complaining that the servers are down. Add one more to that since I posted this: people complaining about people complaining about people complaining that the servers are down. Never ending cycle of people complaining about people complaining.

I'm going to complain about you. Where does that put me?

    I don't think that's possible. It's like dividing by 0.

Edit - On another note, Diablo down for emergency maintenance. Yay!

It is my hope that the servers will be perfectly fine by the time I get home from work.

Downloading now. Doubt anything has changed since beta though. Going to have to wait for new MacBook to come out.

They worked fine when I woke up this morning. Not sure what they're fixing now, but ETA is 30min.

Yeah, I hopped on when I got up and got a Monk to level 3 before going to work. From what I hear the internet saying, servers are inconsistent.

Also, there's apparently a showstopper bug related to giving a shield to a certain follower, so that's probably what the emergency maintenance is for.

My copy apparently still hasn't been delivered to my house yet so I'm still up at work, waiting.
