I duhno who these people are who play all the way up to Inferno and "only die twice". The gear makes a big difference, but still. Maybe it's because DH doesn't have a done of powerful AOE stuff? I get surrounded and can't dodge fireballs or energy balls. Or those damn purple laser beams, those get me every time.

I meant to say inferno, not nightmare. Let me know how you do with 100k once you get there.

I guarantee you it's your laptop. I have a friend that plays a monk on both a laptop and a powerful home PC. He had *no* idea how bad the laptop was making him - he claimed it played D3 pretty well and didn't lag at all. But we knew every single time he was on the laptop because his character stutter-stepped the entire time! It was so bad that his character took twice as long as mine to run across a map - and that's when I had zero additional movement speed. It was painful to watch. There were significant pauses between each of his attacks. When he switched to the computer, his character movement looked fluid and he was able to kill/dodge.
Try playing D3 just once on a computer and I bet it'll feel like a brand new character.

I don't roll on Shabbos!
Beat diablo last night. The last Act was extremely short. The first two were by far the longest. Rushed maybe? There was still a lot of content. I was surprised not to see any snow zones in it, but I guess they need environments for later expansion.
What I find always funny with Blizzard games is how grandiose their cutscenes are. A Hollywood quality cutscene rolls with realistic looking characters and very serious overtones, then it cuts into a low poly cartoony world. This is especially apparent in WoW, but Diablo 3 still carries the same effect.
It took me right at 18 hours to beat normal. I explored every nook on every map and ended up being almost level 33.
The verdict, its a great game that seems to be lacking sometimes. I don't know what they could add, but I'd like to see more side events or something to break up normal play. There seems to be much less events in Act 3 and 4. Actually, I don't think I got any in those Acts but got tons in the earlier ones.

The graphics in Blizzard games never look ground breaking, but they also stand up to the test of time much better than other games. I'm not sure why, but every Blizzard games still seems to look good to me even after 6-7 years, where other games look incredibly bad in hindsight.
Even W3 still looks great to me.

I think there are more events in Act 3 and 4 than we think. I keep looking at the achievements and there are all these events that I have never done. Even though I swear I have searched every little part of the map multiple times.

I was amazed how much I missed even in Act I and II according to achievements.
Haven't played in a while. Got a new machine on the way that will hopefully be able to handle it a bit better.

i think its randomized... i started every character, and they all had different side quests in the first act.. also, i think you get more quests in a party

I got a new MacBook Air. Not exactly powerful, but from what I've seen I should be able to run low settings with an HD4000 just fine. That's all I need.
Even on low settings with my 320M the machine would just crawl after Act 1.

on my gf's 2011 MBA, there is no difference between LOW and MEDIUM settings... the things that kill fps though are shadows, vsync, and AA

Fine with me. I was running the game in a window, with low/off everything and it still lagged.
